You Came, You Saw, You Mingled!
And we all celebrated . . .
You, our beloved customer. After 29 years in business we were thrilled that several hundred of our loyal customers stopped by for our OXXtoberfest Customer Appreciation Event on Saturday October 10th, 2015. The weather couldn’t have been better with temperatures in the 80s by mid afternoon and little to none of the notorious eternal Billings winds (that came on Sunday, the day after).
We regaled in your enthusiasm and confidence. Our entire herd volunteered and showed up wearing our unique OXXtoberfest tie-dye t-shirts, which nearly got sold off our backs. We hope you enjoyed our great big "thank you" as much as we did.
SUCCESS MEASURED BY THE LENGTH OF THE LINE
Our first annual Red Oxx OXXtoberfest Customer Appreciation BBQ and Factory Tour was deemed a success by CEO Jim Markel and company President Perry Jones, who spent a good deal of the day leading tours through our renovated factory #8. Every 30 minutes there was a factory tour, the most anticipated event at OXXtoberfest.
CEO Jim Markel keeps an eye on the Roast Pig on the Spit
We’re proud of our little building, an old 1950’s bearing warehouse that we remodeled into a "state-of-the-art" modern production facility in 2012/2013. People saw with their own eyes that Red Oxx is all American product, hand made by local craftsmen and women right here in beautiful Montana.
Said one customer, "I never realized there was such a Gem like this in the middle of Billings." Another stated, "I’ve never seen anything like it before. It was awesome, so clean and organized." A Red Oxx volunteer’s husband remarked to his wife, "You can’t complain anymore, you work in luxury."
Jim provided cooking guidance and a water hose for extinguishing our smoking pig, which was nearly consumed in its entirety. Even the head was born off by former employee Roxy, who drove all the way from Wisdom, Montana to participate. The line was long for a scrumptious picnic lunch but everyone raved about the delicious food. They may have had to have waited an hour and a half beyond when we thought it might be ready but once it was, their were no complaints.

Our Red Oxx Factory Outlet Showroom and Retail Store was jam packed all afternoon long with plenty of pleased customers. Everyone marveled at the loaded racks and bins of beautiful Red Oxx bags and helpful travel accessories. We even sold out our flat bill Red Oxx Trucker Hat!
HAPPY KIDS, COLORING & CLIMBING
The bouncy house from Jump On It, Lovin Inflatable Fun, and the magnificent Red Oxx "Sugar Bull" coloring sheets kept the little ones busy. We divided the age groups into two to six and seven and up. The herd voted on their favorites the following Monday. Prizes for the kids for coloring our coolest coloring sheet included a lovely Amethyst Kat Pack Backpack, which went to future six year old artist extraordinaire Elizabeth "Izzy" Clark and another Kat Pack to Mason Ostermiller, age 10. The rest won a Nalgene Water Bottle filled with goodies.
Kids Coloring Contest made for tough decisions come prize time.
The Climbing Wall from SteepWorld, our neighbor down the street, was well attended. Several kids managed to climb to the top numerous times as the climbing completion siren echoed across the valley all afternoon. One little girl’s boundless energy propelled her up the tower a total of 15 times!

Expedition Overland showed up with a four wheel rig jammed full of Red Oxx Safari bags. The Big Oxx and Lil Sherpa transport vans decorated the perimeter.
The band rocked out.

New Bag World Premier: Our cool new carry-on bag the Mini Boss was met with great enthusiasm, sure to become the next best selling bag when it hits the market Spring of 2016. One elderly lady took one look at it and demanded, on the spot, that her son get her one for Christmas. "Do you remember that leather bag your father used to carry?" she quizzed him. "I could fit it under the seat. This one is the same size and isn’t stiff."
Sales were brisk all day long what with the unprecedented outstanding selection of product inventory currently available: every bag, in all 12 colors, in stock, and ready to ship. Be sure to make plans to attend next year’s OXXtoberfest Customer Appreciation BBQ when we celebrate turning 30 years old.
