OxxFest 5 – Red Oxx Gives Back to Local Community

The Grand Opening of the Red Oxx Events Lawn.

OXXFEST 5 and the ribbon-cutting extravaganza went down from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 13th.

OXXFEST 5 continued Saturday with our Food Truck Roundup from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with local bands, art, prizes, and more.

Located deep within the Billings Industrial Revitalization District (BIRD), this new event center is destined to become the hub for social activities in the greater Billings metropolis. Red Oxx has developed an empty lot to improve the quality of life in our urban core, providing a comfortable outdoor space for concerts, fund-raisers, and more.

Under the towering Rimrocks, Red Oxx President Perry and I toiled to design a unique Greco-Roman inspired amphitheater that is unparalleled for an outdoor venue. Get a gander at this state-of-the-art event facility!

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13th GRAND OPENING & TBEX PARTY

Friday’s invitation only event was sponsored by the Montana Office of Outdoor Recreation and the BIRD. Our ribbon-cutting ceremony made the crowd want to move their feet to the melodic tunes of Grant Jones & Parker Brown who opened for Montana favorites Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs.

Everyone indulged in local specialty craft brews from Yellowstone Valley Brewing, brought to you by the Pub Station. Naturally, there were food trucks keeping your inner foodie satiated. Laney Lou Tickets were limited in number and almost sold out.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14th OXXFEST 5

Saturday was the OXXFEST 5’s Food Truck Roundup from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Saturday was free admission, which is our way to say thanks to the community for their fantastic support. There was a beard competition run by Beard Mountain, local musicians Sofia, Switchback String Band and Soul Funk Collective providing live music, free factory tours, regional craft vendors, fantastic prizes to give away, and a good time was had.

Western Ranch Supply sponsored a petting zoo for the young and old. Face painting and a coloring contest kept the kids smiling. Regional arts & crafts were on hand: 504 Square Foot Pottery and Montana Lathe and Chisel, Red Sky Designs, and many more.

Christian and the herd at Red Oxx have outdone themselves for this year’s OXXFEST 5!

Cheers, Jim Markel CEO
