Red Oxx C-Ruck Rucksack Honors American Soldiers at Bastogne

Red Oxx Proud, America Proud. Hand in Hand

Just like our Airborne soldiers did over 50 years ago, Scott Gausen headed to Germany with his trusty Red Oxx C-Ruck Rucksack on his back. Forsaking luxuries, he rolled across the country in a historical tour of WWII Europe.

I traveled to Bastogne on the 51st anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. I traveled with the C-Ruck Rucksack. It held a great deal and was very useful.

I was proud to be in the same place that our soldiers were 51 years before, and with the same gear. I was in Europe for four weeks on this trip and I used the C-Ruck Rucksack and the Safari Beano. They carried all that I needed and I never had a worry about their toughness.

I flew to Frankfurt and then took a train to Heidelburg, then a train to Geneva. After staying in Geneva, I rode a train to Liege, Belgium and rented a car. I drove south to Bastogne and La-Roche-En, Ardenne.

I unfortunately did not indulge very much in restaurants or hotels. I rented a car and slept in it. I also got most of my food from grocery stores. I did enjoy several museums in the area. The Battle of the Bulge Museum in Bastogne was fascinating. I also went to a museum in La-Roche-En, Ardenne that was very interesting.

P.S. I will be going back to Europe at the end of December with my dad and I've given him my C-Ruck Rucksack to take with him. He's taken it on the train as well and people have commented on the quality of his gear multiple times. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
The Battle of the Bulge was the largest and most historic battle on the Western European field, what with it being Hitler's last great counter-attack hope.
Cheers,
~Jim
