INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO LIGHT A FIRE USING YOUR RED OXX LIGHTNING STRIKE FIRESTARTER:

Step 1:
Pull out the metal striker from its storage pocket on the end. Using the metal striker, remove the protective glazing on the ferrocerium flint rod by scraping it several times until a spark is generated. You are now ready to start a fire.

Step 2:
Before building a fire, clear the surrounding area of your campfire hearth of grass, leaves and any other combustible debris. If you have no firepit, build one using rocks to surround the hearth.

Step 3: Remove one flammable tinder packet from the storage compartment located in the end under the removable black plastic cap. Always remember to return the cap or more tinder packets could fall out and be lost. You also don't want a stray spark to ignite the tinder packets inside the tube!

Step 4:
Hold your Lightning Strike FireStarter at a 30 to 40 degree angle to the tinder. Press down on the tinder and hold in place with the end of the fire starter as shown in the photos or video. This is important during windy conditions.

Step 5:
Place the striker in contact with the flint and with moderate pressure, push the spark striker across the flint away from you and towards the tinder in a quick scraping motion. You'll want to see sparks shooting out the end of your Lightning Strike FireStarter. Continue scraping the flint towards the tinder, generating plenty of sparks. This should quickly ignite your tinder.

Step 6:
Lightning Strike's fire tinder should burn long enough to allow you to add twigs, leaves, wood, paper or other burnable materials to build your fire. Soon you will have a large fire and the much desired warmth. Keep this survival tool away from small children. Use responsibly.
