During a business trip to Atlanta Red Oxx CEO Jim Markel was presented by his friend Bess Viau of Lilly Porter with a custom-made Red Oxx belt buckle by Atlanta artist and master jeweler Jeff Mclaurin. Jim was pretty impressed, enough to commission this talented young artist with a limited run of just 86 buckles, representing our first year of business - 1986. Said Jim, "The quality, detail and precision are exemplified in the buckle, yet a certain free and independent spirit is also captured; just like our Red Oxx Travel Bags."
Hand crafted from hand polished and oxidized sterling silver and carved Cocobolo hardwood, the Red Oxx Belt Buckle will wow your friends and impress strangers. Sized for standard width belts (1 1/2"), the buckle features the fierce Red Oxx Logo on the front in three dimensional metalwork.
Said Jeff, "Although the logos and design are the same, no two buckles will look alike due to the beautiful variation in the Cocobolo."
Pushing it over the top on the buckle's backside, is the three dimensional B-29 bomber in oxidized sterling silver, inspired by our Killer Bags T-shirt design and 4 tiny travel bags in 18kt yellow gold.
More than just a beautiful belt buckle of our logo, this is a work of fine art that captures the essence of the brand of the Oxx.
