This soft Sniper Rifle Case is worthy of your prized scoped bolt-action or semi-auto rifle. You won't need to bother removing your bi-pod every time you pack up your varmint or sniper rifle. The exclusive Red Oxx rectangular design on the Varmint Master Nylon Rifle Case easily accommodates long heavy barrel rifles and scopes with tall target knobs and attached bi-pods.
You can throw a couple of sand bags, a spare bi-pod, rangefinder, binoculars, earmuffs, and a box or two of ammo into the three handy exterior raised zippered pockets. See below for the measurements of each pocket. The padded sling is comfortable, adjustable and fits nicely over your shoulder (not removable). Or you can carry it by the double box stitched reinforced handles.
The interior of this tactical rifle bag is lined with soft 400 denier weight nylon that won't scratch your finish or hold moisture, unlike sheepskin linings. 3/8" neoprene rubber blend padding won't deteriorate under trying conditions and cushions your rifle from abuse.
Monkey Fist Zip Knots make unzipping the sniper case and gear pockets a breeze. Each pocket's zipper wraps halfway down the side of the pockets, affording you ample room to dig deep. Red Oxx uses only heavy-duty Delrin #10 YKK zippers and they've proven themselves under trying weather conditions in the field. Won't jam or stick like metal zippers. Great case, great company

I ordered this case for my precision rifle, an FN SPR A2 24" .308 (McMillan A4 stock) with a Nightforce 5.5-22x50 optic. This is a beefy stock and the scope has tall target turrets, and I was disappointed to find the dimensions of the case were a bit too small for the rifle's height.
A quick call to Red Oxx, and two weeks later I have a new custom-built Varmint Master in my hands! They say you can order a custom length, but I needed a few more inches of height. I got a 14" case and it has plenty of room, so if you are considering this for your precision rig, think about calling for a custom size. 12-13" might even work ok. Standard size is probably fine for most rifles with a common stock and scope. The standard length is fine.
I have a lot of Red Oxx gear and I am extremely satisfied with all of it, including this. Nice carry strap, nice padding, nice look. It's not "tacticool", it doesn't fold out into a shooting mat, and there's no MOLLE anywhere, but the three pockets hold ample gear. The large pocket will fit a data book or small spotting scope, the small pockets will fit an assortment of binos, LRF, box mags, ammo, Kestrel, mini tripod, etc.
I'm sure I'll get many years of use out of this bag, and thanks to Red Oxx for being a great American manufacturer.

Good quality case, great construction. This case has lots of big pockets for "stuff" and the great thing is it is long enough for my rifle with the muzzle break on it.

WoW This case is the best case I ever owned, My rifle dropped over 25 feet and landed on some rocks but there wasn't a scratch on the rifle and the case was good to, that speaks for it self!

The padded case did an excellent job of protecting the rifle, the 3 large pockets held my shooting glove, rifle sling, extra sights, bolt flag, bolt case, shooting book, head band and a 50 round ammo box. What's the difference between the Varmint Master, Gun Runner, and Flat Dog? The Flat Dog is a gun slip with no padding, Gun Runner is a padded rifle case and the Varmint Master is designed for sniper, tactical, long range target and varmint style rifles with extra long target barrels and large long range scopes with added pockets for the extra shooting gear that comes with long range shooting.
What is the maximum barrel length in the Varmint Master?Full length of the gun case is 50 inches. Barrel length is irrelevant as the configured rifle could be a bull-pup for example. Measure the entire length of your rifle from muzzle to butt. If your rifle is too long, we can change the case length.
What are the three outside raised pockets for?The small pocket could hold your ammunition, protective eye-wear, maps, GPS and so on. The long pocket your sandbags or tripod and the medium pocket could hold your binoculars, rangefinder, ear muffs, etc. Whatever shooting accessories that you need that will fit.
My barrel is shorter or longer than standard, will it fit?Measure your rifle from the end of the butt to the end of the muzzle, including muzzle brake, if it has one. If it's under 50 inches, no problem, it'll fit.
Can I get a longer or wider case made?While in the past we've adjusted our Varmint Cases, due to production demands, Red Oxx can no longer offer custom sizes.
