Prism Trivia: refers to the glass mechanism in binoculars: a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. Our expensive glass came shipped in a "cheap" case. We also didn't want to take a noisy and reflective aluminum case out in the field where it would frighten our prey.

Red Oxx Binocular Case With Taste!
By Joseph Tousignant aka "joejeweler", Schenectady, NY, December 12, 2013

Well, I had meant to write a review when my Red Oxx Prism Binocular case arrived several weeks ago, and I did,.....sort of. It just wasn't on this site! :-)

Once it arrived and I adjusted the straps for a secure fit to my Zeiss 7x42B/GAT*P* Classic binocular, I shortly thereafter wrote a well deserved recommendation on the Bird Forums when I compared those Zeiss Binos to my much smaller Leitz 7x42B Trinovids.

(link below and my recommendation appears about 2/3 down in the 1st post)

http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=270962

I found the case to be extremely well made, with more than enough padding to offer excellent protection in any "normal" use. (on ALL sides!)

I also found the case very comfortable to carry also,......more than the usual hard leather cases I usually use with my smaller glass. The padding that protects the binos also protects "you" from wear and tear from a long day in the field . No more bruises or chaffing from carrying a BIG glass with a hard case! :-)

My only "complaint" is that this fine case isn't offered in a smaller size. (to fit a my old Leitz 8x32 or 7x35B Trinovid roof prism binos)

Keep the price the same, reduce the size,......and put me on your list for an all BLACK one if your ever down size the case!

If you don't feel like going to the forum to read the entire post,.....here's my recommendation snipped from it:

"FWIW,....I'd recommend the "Red Oxx Prism" padded case to anyone!

In my view it's worth evey penny ($50 plus shipping), as it's well made in the USA of quality materials with loads of padded shock & ding protection, and on every side including the top! This IS the case Zeiss should have outsourced for their larger glass! It's also adjustable as to length with the outer 2 straps, so fits a variety of larger length binos. Comes in 12 colors with black straps and trim, but I liked the "Raven" (all black) as it was in stock with no wait with straps the same color. Some of the other 12 colors were also in stock (but all come with black straps), as I think they try to have one of each ready for immediate sale. Once I ordered the all black one, the site showed a 30 day wait for that color to be worked into the system.

I have NO relationship with the company, but here's the link for your convenience: http://www.redoxx.com/91051/Product

I had never heard of them until I saw the ebay listing for another mint Zeiss 7x42B/GAT*P* ClassiC that included a Red Oxx Case. However, THAT buyer paid a whopping $1,600.00 for the combo! OUCH!......."

Anyway,....... *****Stars.

What ya waiting for???? :-)

Better than the Swarovski field bag
By CB, UK, August 28, 2012

This case is a much better fit for the Swarovski EL 10x50 than the Swarovski field bag. A snug fit, provides great protection and has a useful side pocket just right for a lens pen. Highly recommended!

 Prism Binocular Case
By George Regmund, United States, August 10, 2012

A truly high quality product which will last a lifetime and protect a pair of binoculars extremely well. And made in the good old USA too!! I'll be recommending this case to all my birding friends for their high quality optics.

 Second time around
By Claude Stewart, California, November 24, 2011

This my second case, if I had tied the first one on my saddle better I'd still have it. I Like that it's a bit larger even though the other one fit my Leicas just fine. Great product hope I don't lose another one.

 Binocular case
By Mike Mann, Indiana, November 10, 2011

A truly great case for my 10x42 Nikon Monarch's. Well padded and protective of them. At first I was upset over the fact I spent $50 + shipping and no strap, but after using them on my last trip I see the logic. The side pouch is perfect for my Olight flashlight. Great product. Well done!

 BAD @$$ Bino case
By Nathanael H, PROVO UTAH, October 6, 2011

The case is exactly as described, fits my good glass like it should, plenty of padding to keep em' safe, but not bulky. $50 well spent. Own a few bags now, this is the best quality item I have bought from RED OXX yet.

Great quality, prompt delivery, one very satisfied customer.

 Great - but take care
By John, Geneva, Switzerland, February 10, 2011

I've only myself to blame - should have checked the measurements more closely - when the case arrived I found it was not big enough for my binoculars. But its excellent quality (like all Red Oxx products) and I'll put it to alternative use. But I'd like others not to make the same mistake - the case will not be large enough for many brands of binoculars that might, for example, be used for long-distance, marine environment, etc. work.

 Red Oxx Binocular Case
By Jake, Wichita, KS, October 28, 2010

Wonderful case and made the way I was hoping it would be. Would recommend it highly to anyone. Would like to see a optional shoulder strap offered. I'm personally looking forward to purchasing several items for myself as this case is a Christmas gift.BTW, the Dog Tag is a great option for adding personal identification and is on the same quality standard as the case. Thanks Red Oxx for taking pride in your products.

 Excellent case
By TL, PA, September 2, 2010

I was in the market for binoculars and bought a pair of 10x42 just so I could buy this case. Now I didn't get Leica or Swarovski, in fact, my binos cost less than this case. But they fit perfectly and are well protected, and it's better than having to buy another set because of dropping them in that thin neoprene case the binos came with. Love the lens pen pocket, too. I wish it had a Red Oxx logo on it somewhere, only because the ox is cool, but there's no room the way the webbing runs. I recommend this case for sure, but one warning is that the metal D-rings connected to your Claw Shoulder Strap might be a bit noisy for hunting. I don't use these for hunting so for me it's a non-issue. Some tape on the D-rings would solve that, though.

 Tough, well-padded case
By David, Massachusetts, January 28, 2010

I purchased this case not for my binoculars -- although I will occasionally use it for that purpose -- but rather for my rangefinder camera kit. I take my camera, plus filters and 1 extra lens everywhere I go, including on frequent business trips. I wanted something that would protect the gear, small enough that it would pack away easily, and rugged enough to be slung over my shoulder whenever I feel like taking one of my photo walks. Since this is my 4th piece of Red Oxx gear, I was not at all surprised by its excellent construction, nor by the fact that it does exactly what I hoped it would. For the right sized camera and lenses, it's an excellent camera case.

 Prism Binocular Case
By Rick Dumas, Connecticut, January 3, 2009

I purchased the Prism Binocular Case for a pair of Steiner, 8X42 Peregrine binoculars. The case fits the binocs. like a glove and it is extremely well made with easy access. While backpacking I can attach the case in front to my pack's shoulder harness using the two D rings. In addition, The top flap allows me to wear the binocular's neck strap, while the glasses are safely in the case at the ready. A real bonus for hunters and anyone bush whacking. With the cost of decent glasses today, I feel more comfortable now when I take them into the back country.

 Insurance Without The Premium
By Cam Smith, , December 2, 2006

The Bino Binocular Case was my first Red Oxx purchase, which has lead to a positive relationship with the company and a list of 12 excellent travel luggage bags now owned. Jim's "sales pitch" at the SCI booth was, "yeah, I don't understand these folks that make $1500 -$2000 binoculars and send them in a flimsy zippered binocular pouch". Well bye bye to the flimsy zippered pouch. The Red Oxx padded Bino Binocular Case costs less than the annual premium for a $2000 pair of binoculars added to your sporting goods insurance policy. That makes you feel like you actually have something to show for the money you've spent. Functional side pocket for a lens pen, padding on the 4 sides to protect the binoculars, and 2 easy-to-use closures give this binocular case an A plus. PS....the case fits great in the front pocket of the Gun Runner Soft Rifle Case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size binoculars will fit in the Prism?
The Prism was designed specifically to fit Leica & Swaroski 10 x 42 and 10 x 50mm Binoculars. We can't guarantee it will fit other brands as we've never tried them.

What's the small pocket for on the outside?
The small pocket holds a typical bino or scope lens cleaning tool.

Does the Prism come with a shoulder strap?
Shoulder strap rings are built onto the bino case but does not include a strap. We recommend our Claw Shoulder Strap because it's designed to never slip off.

Can the Prism be used for a camera? If so, what size camera will fit?
Sure it hold any typical flat box shaped digital camera like a Nikon Coolpix or disposable film camera. It will also fit typical HDMI compact digital cameras. It will not fit a typical SLR digital camera with the lens on, though the body alone will.

What if my binoculars are too tall/short?
The twin tie down straps are fully adjustable and can be loosened or tightened by five inches.

Can you ship USPS?
Yes, Red Oxx will ship USPS upon request. Simply state, "Please ship USPS" in the cart comments during checkout and we will adjust your billing accordingly.
