My wife and I enjoy hiking though the Shenandoah National Park, particularly to areas with water falls and streams. For her birthday in April this year we decided to hike Rapidan Camp, also known as "Camp Hoover." This was an encampment and retreat for President Hoover from the 1920s to 1930s. The hike is a beautiful 7.6 mile long loop, coursing over the hills with a 1320 foot gain in elevation. There are plenty of streams for trout fishing through-out the area.

Of course, my choice for hiking gear is my mini-ruck. It serves me well as a dual purpose pack: my carryon for travel overseas since it holds anything and everything, while easily fitting under the seat, and as my backpack for the numerous hikes we take each year.

I cannot recommend the mini ruck enough. It has comfortable straps, bottomless storage and good looks and it goes from Argentina to Poland and up and down the Shenandoah Mountains. Do yourself a favor and pick one up.
