A great idea and I'm amazed it took me this long to realize the how useful the dogtags are.
No more mssing or illegible bag tags, especially when used with the cables Red Oxx also sells.
I can hang the dogtag on an isolation padlock and know that everyone knows who hung the lock.
For the minor cost, the dogtags have proven to be an excellent tool to identify ownership.

The service was excellent and so very prompt. The tags are great and of good quality. However I wish that they were of a heavy guage steel and the imprint a little more bold. Overall a good quality product.

The tags are good, sturdy quality & I really like that there is room for so much info. I got two for my husband & me to note our drug allergies (WAY cheaper than a MedicAlert bracelet!).
I also got two tags for our dogs. It was especially need for the Basset Hound with a penchant for escaping.
The only complaint/suggestion I have is that, if you were only ordering dog tag(s), couldn't you just throw them in an envelope and run it through the postage meter? The cheapest shipping option is UPS Groun which was $9 to PA.
Now, I ordered other items which made that $9 shipping cost reasonable. If I didn't, I wouldn't have ordered the dog tags because paying almost as much for shipping as the product cost is not a good value.

A really cool product. I use them as luggage tags and when purchased with the little steel cable, they are certainly sturdy enough to hold up under rough baggage handlers.
The tags a little difficult to read at a distance which helps disquise your ID from prying eyes, yet can easily be read when trying to identify a bag.

Bought this for my son's mission trip to Africa. Decided to get all 8 kids their own, they LOVED them! I would have preferred the cable instead of the chain, but it works great anyway because the chain allows the tag to lay flat. There needs to be an option for a matte finish. I also bought a large RUCK sack and 2 shaving bags...excellent! Well worth the money, and with each bag bought, I was GIVEN two cable locks....so there are the cable locks I wanted! And really, they are only $1.00 each. I WILL buy from you guys again, this time my own small RUCK sack!

I bought some Redoxx luggage , and bought this on the side.
This is however an excellent safety gift for family members.
I included on the tag:
1. Email adres (which consisted of first.last name@work.org)
2. up to 2 ICE tel nrs.
3.Blood type
4.for some their work title or name of work.
5. for some their country of residence.
They all loved it.
Do get the extra 1$ cable lock wire though as the wire included with the tag isn't worth keeping.
When we go out to a more crowded place with our two toddlers we now ALWAYS attach a tag (which includes mum & dad's mobile nr +email) to their trousers in case they get lost.
As I jog late at night or before sunrise I've also attached a tag to my jogging shoes like a road ID (less fancy but much cheaper than the branded vs.).

Not quite a true GI dog tag BUT close enough. Just what I wanted for luggage and that's what I use them for. Beats a fancy leather tag for durability.

These dog tags are wonderful. I travel alot and use different bags. These tags are easy to move from bag to bag and are not easily readable from a distance. I have recommended them to friends.

these are good and I got them with my email address for each of my bags.
But the limitation of not being able to include a '+' symbol in the text means that international customers can't put their telephone number eg +861234567890

For a few bucks each this is EASILY A MUST-BUY. You need at least a half-dozen: three for traveling, three to wear when working out or in the backcountry.
For years my military tags sufficed with blood type, SSN, religion, and military branch. But a few years ago I started using a P-Touch labeler to stick a tape on the reverse side of the tag for add'l data.
What's great about the RedOxx product: I don't have my SSN imprinted and ...you can choose...
1) 5 data lines" I specify: name and mil rank/blood type/allergy statement/ city-state-zip/email/phone
and
2) the reverse side is flat so it takes and retains a P-Touch tape:
I add an emergency contact name, email and phone, that I wear contact lenses, and where my medical records are located.
Obviously, you won't use these tags in a military contingency assignment, but I use them here in CONUS (but destroyed those with my SSN)

Loved the product!!!!! I bought my whole family these for Christmas. The size could be bigger, if only to resemble a tradition luggage tag. I like the shiny finish, put a tag on some of my hunting bags, never know when a shiny reflective tag could come in handy. I will agree with other travelers on the cable lock issue though. Charge an extra dollar and send the cable lock with the dog tags. All and all a great product.

The tags themselves aren't bad. They're hard to read, though not impossible. A matte finish for the tags would be a good option. My major complaint is with the little chain that comes with the tag. Because my other RedOxx products have come with a similar tag on a very nice cable-lock attachment I assumed this is what the tags come with. Not so -- these tags come with an ultra cheapo little chain that's neither strong nor easy to use. Makes the tags a lot less useful, actually. If there's some cost issue with the cable locks, why not just charge another $1 for the tags and ship them with it? Seems like a pointless things to cut corners on.

These are a good idea but the Luggage Tag available on this site may be a better investment. These tags do not seem durable and are difficult to read.
