This bag is really well constructed and was bigger than I anticipated. I bought it to use as a range bag and if anything, it is a little too big (not what I would call a problem). The only improvement that I would suggest is adding D rings so that I could add a shoulder strap. Great value for the price, but I would certainly pay a little more for the addition of a pair of D rings. However, I will buy another soon.

Used this for a five day trip to Europe and it worked great. A couple of packing cubes helped keep its shape so it didn't collapse on itself. Survived being checked from Austria to OH as well as carry on in Barbie Jets and "real" airplanes.
OTOH, I really missed a shoulder strap schlepping through airports, especially CDG and AMS where if you don't find a baggage cart, it can get a little heavy walking forever between terminals.

I received this bag as a present and it has been perfect as a carry on for commuter jet and prop plane rides. It fits in all overhead compartments no matter the plane and I have fit it underneath the seat in front of me. Great for a week of clothes and very light to carry. Packing cubes and aids are a must. Highly recommend it.

Awesome bag...simple, durable, discrete, perfect week or less trip size (more if you are an extreme packer!)
Needs D-rings for over the shoulder straps when carrying a heavily loaded bag...also small nit but while the fabric is very durable the tactile touch is a little lacking. Just doesnt have that heavy duty feel which I assume is a sacrifice in exchange for high durability to weight ratio.

I ordered this bag before going on a two-week vacation to Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain National Park. I tend to overpack bags, and the sturdy construction held up very well. I was able to easily fit two+ weeks of clothes into the bag. It's much bigger than the name suggests, and it will be my go-to bag for travel from now on.

I packed this small duffle in my carry on bag during a trip to Europe. It was perfect for having extra storage. The bag was durable, well built and sturdy. I ended up putting all my clothes and other personal items in this bag and checking it on the plane while my souvenirs stayed with me in my carry on luggage. The duffle was checked three times on several flights and was in great shape. I highly recommend the aviator bags.

I am using this bag mainly as a gym bag. The only thing I would change is to add a little outside pocket to keep my padlock in - it usually ends up at the bottom of the bag and I have to dig through everything in order to find it. Otherwise it is perfect. I have also used it as a weekend getaway bag twice already - you can really fit a lot more in it than it appears!! Am loving it - Thanks for making such a great product!

This is the 6th Aviator duffel bag I've purchased. I keep finding more and more uses for them. Each bag is durable, well made, and discrete. It is my go-to bag for travel. I employ the minimalist packing strategy promoted by Onebag.com. I just returned from a trip to California and pack 3 changes of dress clothing, every day wear, swim wear, gifts, a hardback book to read, a laptop---all in the small aviator. Wow.

I bought this bag in hopes that its rugged simplicity would be perfect for my needs --- I was not disappointed. I bought this bag and a medium size at the same time. The small will fit the ticket perfectly for its intended use, and the medium will get used as a gear bag for the weekends at the cottage and camping.
I have an LL Bean Quickload that was my entry into the one bag travel arena, but I wanted something "simpler" --- no extra pockets, no straps just a bag to hold stuff. I use packing cubes and this keeps my stuff organized and gives structure to the bag.
The size will pretty much fit any carry-on dimensions going, so this is perfect for the travel I prefer. Even though it is close to half the weight of the Quickload, it feels more durable.
I have recommended this bag to numerous people, since my purchase. Great build quality, super value for your money and fast shipping makes this one of the best deals available.

One of the best bags I´ve ever owned. Just got my second one, although (and because) there´s nothing wrong with the first one. It has lots of miles on it, and I often use it as my primary luggage, as it´s so light.

Ordered this bag and extra small mesh bag to use either as a gym bag.
Fell in love with the mesh bag.
The contruction is military tough, industrial quality! I'm using this bag for my tent, tent footprint, and sleeping bag gear for my camping expeditions. Like these bags so much that will order the larger sizes as well. They fit and compliment my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Great expedition bags or a BMW motorcycle adventur tour across Afica!

Ok, so I love all my Redoxx bags. For twenty years I've had all kinds of bags: duffels, backpacks, stachells, hoboes, whatever you want to call them, wheeled bags. But I haven't found any bags as well made as these or as versatile. I have this medium duffel bag and thought I would only use it for clothes. It would pack clothing nicely, but so far I haven't used it for that purpose. I tend to put all my day items in smaller bags, I always have, and my assortment of small and medium items I need for a day fit nicely. Nothing rattles around and I always make sure, especially when I have smaller items, that I put them in bags. I can put my shoulder bag in this bag so that I can just take that with me and leave everything else at work, on lunch hour, for instance. I found it a little hard to pack because of the flexible construction, but it's one of its best features, light, sturdy, and compact.
I don't think this bag needs shoulder straps, I think the construction of it would tend to make the bag heavier with a strap, and sofar the clasp handles are fine for carrying the bag. Keep up the good work Redoxx.
I do have one use for this bag. I have two cats and I've been thinking of putting together a kit for them in case we have to move quickly or get out of the apartment. This bag will be perfect for carrying a small supply of cat food and dishes and a small box of sand, and I mean small. That would get heavy. The cat kit is one of the many plans I have for this bag. Thanks for making such a versatile product. It's it's best feature.

I keep buying these handy, well made bags, including the mesh edition. I use the XS for travel. With careful packing I can manage a two week trip out of an XS Aviator. I browse the other Red Oxx bags. I love the idea of pockets, straps, colors. But I keep coming back to the Aviator: small, light, sturdy, inexpensive, roomy.

This is the best bag I have ever purchased. Great quality of materials and workmanship in a rugged minimalist bag. This bag is large enough for several weeks for my kind of travel and small enough to be my only carry-on bag.

This bag is exactly as described...it's a big open single-compartment duffle. No exterior or interior pockets, just a solid, well-built BAG. I would think that a barely-filled Aviator would have items moving about, but if you use packing cubes or fill the bag, everything will stay in place. It does take up some room in another suitcase, but it provides the durability to protect whatever you put inside. I wouldn't worry about the bag opening or breaking and having your possessions strewn about.
Heavy-duty zipper, well stitched handles, and monkey-knot pulls.
If you want pockets, dividers or other features, look to other RedOxx models. But if a simple durable "bag" is what you want, you can't go wrong with this.

I have been looking over your products for some time and thought I would try the Medium Aviator Bag, WOW! it's what you said and then some, I really didn't think it would be as good as it was but this bag is "Top Of The Line", I have bought a lot of duffel bags from Wal-Mart and K-Mart so that is what I expected to get, low end with a label. But this bag is well made and bigger then I thought it would be and built like a tank, I'm in for the long haul boys. Thank you Red Oxx

Small Aviator + packing cubes make the perfect carry on. Rectangular shape provides maximum storage space - no wastage from curves, while packing cubes provide organization. Fits easily into overhead bins - was able to even stow a computer bag right on top of the Aviator in a small commuter jet bin. Looks sharp for business - I am a banker and carried a full load of pitch books and documents into a board presentation in this bag, ditching the Tumi roll-on. Over-engineered specs - I don't think I can wear this out.
Now for the gripe. The bag really needs a couple of D rings for a shoulder strap. Nearly every other reviewer has mentioned this. The zippers go all the way around, but you can offset the D ring attachments - or have two on each side, with reinforcing straps stitched underneath and around, parallel to the zippers.
I knew about the lack of attachments for shoulder straps before going in, and still bought it. Why? Because, even after research I couldn't find any bags comparable to the Aviator, with or without shoulder straps, from any manufacturer at any price. Solid 1000D material, robust zippers, clean minimalist design and great American workmanship. Five stars.
